Project Challenges

Simpson & Brown enlisted the services of Area Engineering to assist Franklin Development Group in a design-build effort to install a new bridge. With Geotechnical considerations and a logistically challenging site, Simpson & Brown was able to install support of excavation adjacent to an existing roadway and construct a bridge using an Integral Abutment System and Precast Concrete Beams in place of a typical deep foundation and cast-in-place abutment walls.
